I’m a pretty big “Say Yes To The Dress” fan, so I was excited to hear that WNBA star Brittney Griner would be appearing on the show with her fiancée, Glory Johnson. The 6’3″ baller, 24, popped the question to Johnson, 24, a fellow WNBA player, and she said yes back in August. Griner was ecstatic:

“Last Night was a Night to Remember (,) I became the happiest person on this earth! (almost pass out but when that one word came out I came back to life) Me and my baby @missvol25 are in it for Life!”

The pair has since stopped at Bridals by Lori in the ATL to look for gowns, and TLC, of course, taped the whole thing. Griner told the Huffington Post that watching Johnson try on dresses was a nerve-racking experience:

“Being on the show was super exciting! I was nervous, but I knew at the end of the day we would have a dress. It also let me know how real things are, when I saw Glory in her dress I just couldn’t keep the tears back!”

And Lori Allen, who is the owner of Bridals by Lori, tells PEOPLE that her expectations of what Johnson would want were much different from what the athlete actually desired:

“Dressing Glory was not as I had envisioned. I expected this fabulous athlete – who would not really want to look like a traditional bride. I’m thinking maybe a pants suit? Boy was I wrong.

Ultimately Glory was very traditional and was only interested in pleasing Brittney – like most other brides. This is why I love bridal – it keeps you on your toes! In the end, Glory looked glorious.”

In the preview for the episode, which airs tonight on TLC at 10/9c, Griner and Johnson’s family and friends can be seen competing to find a dress that Johnson would like, and Griner realized, it’s not as easy as it looks.

“Being on a court, I know exactly what I’m doing. Being on a bridal floor…not so much.”
