John Legend Discusses How Touring Has Changed Now That He’s A Married Man: “It’s Much More Mellow”
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have been married for more than a year now, but the public is still pretty curious about how married life has changed things for them. According to John, it has definitely slowed down his wild living while out on the road.
“Well, once you’re off the market, touring is different. [Laughs] I’ve been off the market since before I got married, but the early part of touring was going out, chasing girls, doing all of that, but once you retire from that game, it’s much more mellow,” he told Details.
“It’s more relaxing. I get more rest. It’s just more calm, and I’m more focused on being a good artist.”
Although his lady love may have caused him to hit the brakes on his roadie lifestyle, creatively, he continues to flourish. The nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer scored two nominations this year. He has a nomination in the bag for Best Rap Song for his role as a co-writer on Kanye’s “Bound 2.” He has also been nominated for Best Pop Performance for “All of Me (Live),” which was inspired by his wife. The newlywed says that if the Teigen-inspired track happens to win, it would be very meaningful.
“It definitely would mean a lot. That song is very personal. I sang it at my own wedding, and it’s been sung at a lot of other people’s weddings since then. That song is very special to me.”
Married life seems to be treating both John and Chrissy well. We’re wishing them all the best.
