Missing Virginia Teen Found Safe In Arkansas, Abductor Taken Into Police Custody

January 30, 2015  |

Yesterday evening, we wrote about Aysia Monique Lewis, the 16-year-old girl who disappeared from her school in Christianburg, Virginia with Donald “Bruce” Quesenberry, a 33-year-old man who she had been corresponding with online.

Fortunately, this morning we have some good news.

Aysia is safe.

Both Aysia and Donald were found in Little Rock, Arkansas around midnight on Friday morning. And both were taken into police custody.

Someone sent a tip to the Virginia CBS affiliate, WDBJ, directing them to a Facebook post that seemed to come from Quesenberry.

He wrote:

The Facebook status was posted shortly before Aysia and Donald were found in Arkansas.

Authorities have not released information about whether or not the post was actually written by Quesenberry.

A news station in Illinois located Quesenberry’s ex-fiance. She said they had been dating for four years when he left on Sunday night, telling her that he was going to the store and then later to Virginia to visit his grandmother, who he said was sick.

When Aysia was originally reported missing, Quesenberry was charged with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Now that he’s in police custody, he may be facing additional charges.

Yuck to this dude.

But we’re happy that Aysia was found safe and hopefully, she’ll be returned to her family soon.
