Solange: Tax Lien Misunderstanding Being Handled

December 30, 2014  |

We told you over the weekend that Solange Knowles was hit with a tax lien just days after tying the knot in New Orleans with her love, video director, Alan Ferguson. According to TMZ, the State of California has a financial beef with the singer and claims that she owes more than $55,000 in past due taxes that weren’t provided from 2010-2012.

The interesting thing about all of this though, is that it seems Knowles wasn’t aware of the lien. As we told you yesterday, she tweeted “Well thanks for letting me know , lol. Shiiiiiiiiiit. (Pronounced *She-it),” and thanked a publication for keeping her in the loop: “Good looking out yo! Lol. (No for reallys though :)”

Luckily, Knowles is handling the matter and hopes that the lien will be lifted ASAP. A rep for the singer reached out and said that the lien was caused by “confusion” about where she was living from 2010-2012:

“The lien is in process of being removed as there was simply confusion on whether Solange was a California resident. We expect this to come to a swift close.”

In the meantime, Solange seems unbothered by the whole situation. She’s too busy being a happy newlywed. Oh yeah, and she’s too busy playing Dance Dance Revolution with friends to be worried:
