It was quite disappointing to see Nicki Minaj and Safaree Samuels resort to antics as petty as Twitter feuds this weekend. Specifically what caused the public outburst is still uncertain, but tweets sent out by the feisty Queens rapper suggests that the threat of being blackmailed may have had something to do with it.
TMZ recently caught up with Samuels, who addressed the extremely messy dispute.
“Definitely not a Twitter war, just a misunderstanding, you know,” the rapper explained. “Somebody out there putting some poison out.”
Despite the ugly nature of the feud, he insists that he has nothing but love for his ex. He sidestepped questions about whether or not reconciliation is possible, but reiterated his support for Nicki and all of her endeavors.
“I support her in everything she do. Her music, her family…that’s somebody you know—12 years is a long time. That’s not something you forget about, so that’s like a family member, you know what I’m saying?”
He also explained how tough the breakup has been because everywhere he turns, Nicki is there in some capacity.
“It’s not easy. I gotta do what I gotta do. It’s different when everywhere you go, everything you watch, every single radio station has on that person.
As previously reported, Nicki has partially credited her inability to give Samuels her full attention for their breakup. So far, he hasn’t responded to those claims.
