After years of criminal court proceedings, Ashanti faced her alleged stalker in a New York courtroom, the Daily News reports.

The singer has accused Devar Hurd, 36, of harassing her and her family since 2009. He even spent two years behind bars for the offenses, but the harassment started back up again in 2013. In court Tuesday, Ashanti faced Hurd, who is representing himself, as he cross-examined her.

“Wassup Shani… everything good?” he asked during questioning. “How’s ‘Army Wives’ going? Are you still acting on that show?”

He was shot down repeatedly by a judge for asking irrelevant questions.

“You’re not letting me ask her nothing!” he reportedly whined at one point.

“I was extremely scared and nervous. I had no idea what he was capable of. I felt unsafe,” Ashanti told the jury before describing the perverted tweets she received from Hurd during a dinner outing with her family on July 13, 2013.

Ashanti’s mother, Tina Douglas, and sister, Kenashia Douglas, who have also accused Hurd of harassing them, were subjected to his cross-examination as well.

While Ashanti says that she doesn’t ever recall meeting Hurd, Kenashia does remember posing for a photograph with him.

“In person you seem like, you know, a very nice guy. You come off that way,” Kenashia told Hurd. “But when you go home… you begin to tweet things that are inappropriate, talking about my body and the things you want to do to me that makes me feel unsafe.”

While exiting the courtroom Tuesday, Ashanti confessed that the experience of being cross-examined by Hurd had not been a pleasant one.

“It was horrible,” she said.

The trial is set to continue Wednesday.
