Gabrielle Union is getting ready to show her funny side in Chris Rock’s latest production, “Top Five,” but in our interview with the actress during the film’s press junket she talked about some not-so-amusing aspects of fame. When we asked the newlywed how she feels about the attention on her and her NBA hubby Dwyane Wade, Gabby acknowledged a lot of the praise and criticism comes with the territory when you consider the professions each chose, but breaking it down to the larger issue at hand, Gabrielle made this observation:
“We don’t let anybody off the hook. Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or a doctor, we feel like if one person in that couple is famous, you better step up. You better be worthy of them. And if we decide you’re not worthy of them, we kill them.”
Anybody else putting their head down in shame?
There’s no denying Gabby is speaking the truth about the way we criticize entertainers and spouses of celebrities who haven’t chosen to be in the spotlight — as if we had a chance with these stars to begin with. Watch Gabby’s full interview in the video above and see what else she had to say.
