Debuting next year on February 18 will be Oxygen’s latest reality series,“Preachers Of LA” spinoff “Preachers Of Detroit.”
In this series, viewers will follow the lives of seven pastors around Motor City as they balance their faith and revitalization of the city of Detroit. For the first time, viewers will also see two female pastors as they struggle against the gender biases in the Christian religion. Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development for Oxygen, Rod Aissa shared with the Detroit Free Press:
“’Preachers of Detroit’ is the latest iteration of the honest, thought-provoking storytelling that Oxygen viewers have so strongly connected with. We introduce a new group of preachers who have various roads to faith, triumph and transformation, but share a united dedication to help influence positive change in Detroit.”
Bishop Charles Ellis, Pastor David Bullock, Bishop Corletta Vaughn, Pastor Tim Alden, Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole (of the gospel group The Clark Sisters), Bishop-Elect Clarance Langston and Pastor Don William Shelby Jr. have been cast for the show and from the looks of the trailer, it appears “Preachers of Detroit” is more inspirational and focused on rebuilding than internal drama among the group.
