[Watch] Jazmine Sullivan Debuts Emotional “Forever Don’t Last” Video
Earlier today, Jazmine Sullivan debuted the music video for her latest single, “Forever Don’t Last.”
In the emotional video, the curvy beauty grieves what appears to be a broken engagement. She leaves home to visit her grandparents in an attempt to flee whatever relationship turmoil she left behind, but it’s not long before the memories and heartache continue to haunt her.
“Me, my mom and Eshon Burgundy directed this video for ‘Forever Don’t Last’ with the help of some friends,” Jazmine explained. “My grandmother and grandfather play themselves, and I want to give a special thanks to Pastor Anthony and First Lady Tammy Trout for letting us use their beautiful home and farm to film. Hope you enjoy!”
It would make sense that Jazmine and her mother would want to personally take on putting together the visuals for this track , as the singer revealed that this song is very dear to her.
“That song was very personal,” the 27-year-old told 247HH. “Actually, while I was writing it I was kind of like talking to myself. I was talking myself through my own breakup and my own heartbreak. My mom was in the room. It wasn’t a lot of people, but my mom I remember being in the room. I remember feeling so overwhelmed and just wanting to go and cry through all of it. I was so sad. I was talking to myself through the record. I remember thinking, ‘I can’t sit here and break down. I don’t have the time to break down.’ So I kind of just put it all on the record. ”
