Yoga and Meditation for Baltimore Students

Yoga at inner-city public schools? That’s what’s happening at some Baltimore schools thanks to the Holistic Life Foundation, an organization founded by two brothers and a friend. The kids learn how to meditate and how to do yoga poses.

The Grio explains how this non-traditional school activity is impacting the youngsters:

The results are encouraging. Calmer bodies and minds translate into what Dr. Mendelson calls self-regulation skills. Students can learn how to focus on what’s going on with their bodies, and learn how to regulate their own emotions and thoughts.
