Colts Player Scores Touchdown For His Newborn Daughter, Nearly Breaks Down Afterward
Does anybody remember that Tom Joyner Morning Show segment where they would honor Black fathers who were doing great work to take care of their children? I hardly ever listen to the radio anymore, but if Tom Joyner still airs this segment, Indianapolis Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton definitely deserves a shout out.
Yesterday, the Indianapolis Colts played and defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars. (Naptown stand up!) The feat was even more remarkable since T.Y. Hilton was playing with little to no sleep from the night before.
His wife, Shantrell, had just given birth to a baby girl Eugenia, earlier that morning, leading to speculation about whether or not he would play in that day’s game.
Hilton had every intention of playing.
He told ESPN, “I was holding her and just walking at about 11:15 [a.m.] then I said, ‘Baby you want the game ball or touchdown ball?’ That was my goal, to get both of those for her.”
That’s exactly what he did. And instead of doing the schmoney dance in the end zone, Hilton cradled the football and started rocking it.
After the game, Hilton was interviewed about the touchdown and the birth of his daughter, who they’ve nicknamed Gigi. He got very emotional and it was beautiful. Check out the video below.
And on his Twitter account, Hilton shared this adorable picture of his daughter. Check little Miss Gigi out!
