Where Are They Now? Celebrity Careers After Big Scandals
Who could have predicted that Bill Cosby would be one of the biggest scandal makers of 2014? We can’t predict what’s going to happen to Bill’s career, but we have been keeping track of these other celebrities who’s careers were rocked by serious scandals.
The Scandal: In 2006 Michael Richards responded to a heckler with one of the most vicious racist tirades ever heard on a comedy stage.
But before you feel to good about it, remember that he’s still worth $45 million…
The Scandal: Pee-Wee Herman went from being the star of children’s programming to a TV outcast when he got caught exposing himself in a Florida adult movie theater in 1991.
Where Is He Now?: On the Today Show! Last month, Pee-Wee Herman popped up on the show to celebrate the re-release of Pee-Wee’s Playhouse and the small roles that are slowly bringing Paul Reubens back to TV.
The Scandal: 21 years ago, Lorena Bobbitt became a household name when she cut her husband’s member off with a steak knife and threw it into a nearby field.
Where Is She Now?: Dating, apparently. Lorena is now a real estate agent in a committed relationship with a man she’s been with for 16 years.
Think he’s the bravest soul in history? Lorena says she got a lot of male attention after the incident.
The Scandal: In 2007, Don Imus used his radio show Don Imus In The Morning to put his racist foot in his mouth and call the ladies of the Rutgers University Women’s Basketball Team “nappy headed hoes.”
Where Is He Now?: For a while, Don was looking for a black co-host to help repair his image after CBS booted the conservative radio host from his $40 million contract.
Pretty predictably, Don has had trouble finding any takers. But that hasn’t stopped Don from going back on the air with FOX news (while battling prostate cancer).
The Scandal: In 2001 Martha Stewart was busted for Insider Trading after she dumped her ImClone shares right before an FDA ruling bottomed out the stock.
Where Is She Now?: We don’t know if it’s the doilies or the home made doughnuts, but folks have had a lot of trouble staying mad at Martha. Even after he jail time, Martha’s empire is still going strong and she’s even had guest appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and 2 Broke Girls.
The Scandal: It was more of a series of small scandals from the Tweet about Drake murdering her vagina to her setting fire to her neighbor’s driveway that led to Amanda going away to get well at xxx.
Where Is She Now?: Pretending to be married to a bait shop employee, tweeting TMI about her sexual exploits and generally making everyone uncomfortable and wondering if maybe her dosage isn’t enough.
The Scandal: V. Stiviano became famous when she outed her sugar daddy Donald Sterling’s racist remarks.
Where Is She Now?: Last we heard of Stiviano, she’d downgraded from a Bentley to a Hyundai after Donald dumped her.
The Scandal: Back in 2007, Kim Kardashian was best known for being BFF’s with Paris Hilton. And then her sex tape leaked.
Where Is She Now?: Hundreds of millions of dollars richer, 23 million Instagram followers more famous, married to Kanye West and walking proof that Hollywood scandals aren’t always a bad thing.
The Scandal: In a still relatively-new Hollywood move, Paris Hilton released her own sex tape for a DIY publicity boost in 2004.
Where Is She Now?: $4.5 billion dollars poorer since The Hiltons cut her off after her sex tape and other public exploits embarrassed the family.
The Scandal: In 2010 star Jesse James joined the ranks of Hollywood cheaters when he stepped out on Hollywood sweetheart Sandra Bullock with a number of tattooed ladies.
Where Is He Now?: Married. We wouldn’t have believed it either if we hadn’t read his new wife’s US Magazine interview — which conveniently doesn’t mention the cheating scandal that made Jesse a single man in the fist place.
The Scandal: R. Kelly in the pool house with a 14-year-old girl and a fair amount of urine.
Where Is He Now?: R. Kelly was indicted for 21 counts of sex with a minor in 2008, but that hasn’t stopped him from making music all over the place. From Trapped In the Closet to Black Panties R. Kelly is walking proof that some stars can get their fans to forgive anything.
The Scandal: The 2013 racial discrimination suit against Paula Deen was dismissed, but America couldn’t forget the n-bombs she referred to in court or her hopes to use slaver as the theme for her wedding.
Where Is She Now?: Paula Deen tried to hire the real Olivia Pope to save her career, but not even the white hat was able to come to the rescue.
The Scandal: Tonya Harding proved you can’t take the trailer park out of the girl when she had someone break her competition Nancy Kerrigan’s knee at the 1994 at U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit.
Where Is She Now?: Nowhere good. Since being banished from figure skating, Tonya has released a sex tape, fought in Fox’s Celebrity Boxing and now she lives somewhere in rural Oregon where she works “intermittently” as a woodworker.
Marion Barry AND Rob Ford
The Scandals: Both Washington D.C. mayors Marion Barry and Rob Ford got caught smoking crack.
Where Are They Now?: Must be nice to be mayor. Both of these mayors were re-elected.
