Celebrities need love too and they don’t always end up with another famous person. But before you decide to date a famous person, here are some pros and cons that you may want to consider.

No More Working If You Don’t Want To

Not that you’re in it for the money but if you did want to take a leave of absence from your own job you could. If you have a particular passion or issue that’s near and dear to your heart, being with a celebrity may give you the opportunity to do so. There’s no better time to volunteer or give back especially now that you have the time and someone to support you while you do so.

No Debt

Again, you’re not in it for the money. But if you’re still paying off student loans or have credit card debts up to your ears or struggling to pay off your car note then your celebrity boyfriend may be your knight in shining armor in more ways than one. He certainly could wipe away your debt and help you get on your way to a better credit score in no time.

New “Friends”

The rich and famous have to worry about someone liking them solely for the money or what they could get out of them. And when you start dating someone famous, you’ll have friends and family members that may try to butter you up because they want or need something. Even though it technically isn’t your money, be prepared for some people to come out of the woodwork with their hands out.

Crazed Fans

If your man is rich and famous then chances are he has some crazed fans that wish they were in your shoes. Every celebrity has fans who are slightly out of touch with reality. And their delusional hatred may be aimed towards you because you’re with the man of their dreams.

Groupies

Probably the biggest issue you have to worry about when dating someone famous is the groupies. Women love men with power and money and the more money he has, the more women will throw themselves at him. Lil Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Wright recently revealed that back when they were together, she had to deal with crazy groupie who spray-painted and scratched her car. It got so bad Wright was forced to move out of school and town.

Loneliness

If you’re lucky enough to meet someone famous and he sweeps you off of your feet and you two are now a couple, unless you quit your job and travel with him, you may feel like you’re still alone. That’s because he’s out traveling, making money and enjoying the nightlife in whatever town he’s in while you’re sitting home wondering what he’s doing and who he’s doing it with.

Party Like A Rockstar

Now that you’re so and so’s woman, a whole new world has opened up to you. Instead of waiting on lines to get inside of a club, you’re ushered right in to the VIP section. You now have an invitation (as a plus one) to attend some of the hottest parties and industry events. You’re rubbing shoulders with the same people you were reading about in the glossy magazines last month. You sit courtside at NBA games. Life is good.

Paparazzi

You’re man’s in town or you flew out to be with him. The two of you go out for a night on the town and you enjoy a quiet, romantic meal at a four-star restaurant. But when you leave the restaurant arm and arm with your boo, there’s a mob scene of paparazzi outside and you wonder if Kim Kardashian is dining their, too. But they’re there to snap shots of your man and because you’re with him, an unflattering photo with you peering from behind him ends up on TMZ.

Public Scrutiny

You’re not the famous one but as soon as you start dating a celebrity, all of your business will now be open for scrutiny. And the more famous the celebrity, the deeper they will dig into your past. The arrest for shoplifting that happened a decade ago will become news. So will your shoddy credit score and all of your exes. Everyone will go through your business with a fine-toothed comb.

Shopping

Most women love to shop. But unless you have a black American Express card you know you’re balling on a budget and you have a set limit that you cannot go over. However, now that you’re dating someone who has it like that to spend, suddenly your closet looks like Saks Fifth Ave. Or better yet, it’s so full that you need to have another closet built just to store all of your luxurious new purchases.

Newfound Career

Technically you’re not the one with the talent. But because you’ve been dating someone famous, now the paparazzi know your name and soon you’re treated like a celebrity even when you’re out and about by yourself. If you’re smart and want to capitalize off of your newfound fame you certainly could. Amber Rose and Karrueche Tran were known for who they dated before stepping into the spotlight to earn a paycheck for themselves.

Back To The Same Old Life

When the relationship is done you return to your boring, plain Jane life. You got used to jet-setting all over the world, staying in five-star hotels, dining at the finest restaurants and literally shopping until you drop. But when it’s all said and done and you’re single again, it may be hard to adjust to not having money or having someone spoil you with Birkin bags and Chanel boots.

You Become A Jealous Woman

You’re certainly not the only woman that wants your very famous man. And he can literally have his pick of beautiful women. Even though he chose you, there will be times when you won’t feel particularly beautiful or sexy that day. And even if you’re just a little bit insecure on your off day then the thought of buxom, scantily clad women throwing themselves at your man will drive you crazy.
