Faith Evans To Release Biggie Duet Album, “The King And I”
Faith Evans is back in the lab and this time, she’s working on a posthumous duet album featuring her late husband, Biggie Smalls. The R&B singer recently opened up to Hip Hollywood about the project, which will be titled, The King And I.
“I’m about to start working on a very, very special musical project with me and Big,” Faith announced.
It has been nearly 18 years since the rapper’s passing and Faith says that she has been thinking about releasing a project like this for a while.
“It’s something I’ve been thinking about doing for many, many years. So I finally got all of my ducks in a row to try and make it happen.”
Faith adds that the album will feature music that hasn’t been released before, but hopefully she’ll throw in a few of their classic tracks as well.
“Definitely unheard music in the presentation of it.”
As for what sort of duet album fans can expect, Faith compared it to a Natalie Cole/Nat King Cole collaboration.
“I would say Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole…’Unforgettable’…in that vein right there.”
It’ll probably be a while before we actually get to preview the album, as the singer says that it’s in the beginning stages.
“I’m just now getting working on it and of course, I’m promoting ‘Incomparable.’ I would say maybe in the next year. It’s going to be really, really dope.”
I’m not sure you about you, but this is one posthumous album that I believe I could definitely get into.
Are you here for this duet project?
