Moving On Up! “Black-Ish” Keeps Growing In Popularity With Black TV Viewers
Tracee Ellis Ross’ “Black-ish” just keeps growing in popularity. “While ‘Scandal’ and ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ both dipped slightly in total Black audience during the last week of October, ABC’s other prime time contender, ‘Black-ish,’ moved up again,” reports Target Market News. The comedy saw a whopping increase of 128,000 viewers over the previous week and jumped up to No. 6.
Despite this strong showing for the ABC Network, CBS was still the most watched TV network in Black homes with 14 million viewers for 11 shows in the Top 25. ABC came in second with 12.1 million viewers for six of its shows. NBC was in third place with 9.9 million viewers for six shows.
According to Nielsen, the total number of viewers for the Top 25 favorite shows in Black households was 38.7 million. This was a decrease of 12 percent from the previous week.
Also among the Top 25 broadcast TV shows in Black households were: NBC Sunday Night Football, “60 MINUTES,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Dancing With The Stars,” and “Criminal Minds.”
