People have been up in arms since last week over the allegations that Mama June has been romantically involved with a man who molested her own daughter, Anna Caldwell. The show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” was cancelled by TLC, and the family is reportedly being investigated by Child Protective Services at this point. Mama June (whose actual name is June Shannon), has denied all reports and rumors about being involved with the convicted child molester, Mark McDaniel, even though she’s been photographed with him more than once recently.
One person from the family who wants to tell their side of the story is Caldwell, who says she was molested by McDaniel when she was 8, back when her mother and McDaniel were in a relationship. The now 20-year-old eldest daughter told “Entertainment Tonight” that she feels betrayed by her mother for letting such a man back into her life, and more importantly, around her children.
“I’m mad. I’m upset. I feel betrayed. I just feel very hurt. That’s the main thing. I feel very hurt that mama let him come around. She’s happy. She was smiling, laughing and giggling when he was around, knowing the fact that he’s a child molester, mama! He did this to me! Why would you let him come around the girls, knowing what he did, and reportedly done to another girl? She’s never told me that she believes me. She’s never said, hey Anna, I’m sorry for not believing you. It’s mama’s fault. It’s her fault. She has to live with it. She has to live with what she’s done because she has brought the past back. She let him get around Alana and Pumpkin, knowing she’s going to get the kids taken away. Why? Why let him? You should have told him to leave!”
When asked what she would say to McDaniel if she encountered him again, she made it clear that such an interaction wouldn’t be pretty.
“I would look at him in disgust and either spit in his face or at his feet and say, ‘You f**king leave or I’m gonna call the cops! Because you’re not supposed to be here because you KNOW what you did!”
But Caldwell had a lot more to say. Check out part I of her exclusive interview with ET below. It’s definitely emotional:
