“They’re Better Than That”: “Blood Sweat And Heels” Star Brie Bythewood On Geneva Thomas And Melyssa Ford’s Bloody Fight

October 28, 2014  |

Based on everything that conspired last week during filming, the second season of “Blood, Sweat and Heels” is getting off to an explosive start. If you’ll recall, Geneva Thomas hit Melyssa Ford in the head with a wine bottle after the two got into a fight while filming the show. Ford had to get three staples in her head to close the gash and is still recovering from some other bad injuries (including a gash on her foot). Thomas was charged with two counts of felony assault. And while Thomas and Ford haven’t spoken in-depth on the situation as of yet, their co-stars have spoken out to say that they’re not here for the violent shenanigans.

Brie Bythewood and Demetria Lucas’ roles on this upcoming season seem to be a little smaller, but they’ve both spoken out about the violence. Bythewood, who is expecting her first child and has been babymooning it up, told us exclusively that she’s disappointed in both women.

“I was shocked when I heard about Geneva and Melyssa’s fight. I can’t imagine what must have set them off, but knowing both of the ladies I can honestly say they’re better than that. I hope they’ll work out their differences, with or without the cameras.”

And on Twitter right after word got out about the incident, Lucas let it be known that she was nowhere near the fight when it happened and wants nothing to do with such foolishness. It’s not good for her growing brand.

“My phone blew up 90 seconds after it happened. I wasn’t there. I was shoe-shopping at Roosevelt Field. I don’t condone violence of any kind”

“#brandbelle vs everything”

When heading into Lenox Hill Hospital in the Upper East Side late last week, Ford told TMZ that she couldn’t speak on everything because of an investigation, but she did say that “she was attacked” and had “no idea” why Thomas would lash out in the way that she did. But I guess we’ll find out what the deal was when the new season of “Blood, Sweat and Heels” returns.
