Fans of Will Smith’s 2005 romantic comedy Hitch will be thrilled to know that a small-screen adaptation of the film will be making its way to Fox.
According to Movie Web, Will and his wife, Jada Pinkett, will be producing the 30-minute comedy alongside their Overbrook Entertainment partners James Lassiter and Caleb Pinkett.
The script for the series is being written by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont. The plot is said to be set in the workplace and will explore dating and “sexual politics.” This is the third TV adaptation to be acquired by Fox recently. They have also committed to scripts based on Monster-in-Law and Big.
Hitch earned $370 million worldwide when it was released in February of 2005. Will’s costars included Eva Mendes, Kevin James, Amber Valletta, Julie Ann Emery, Adam Arkin, Robinne Lee and Nathan Lee Graham. So far, it has not been revealed who is being considered for the starring roles.
