Football? Who cares about the Cowboys when Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder are on?
ABC beat the ratings for football with the two Shonda Rhimes shows. “For the third consecutive week, ABC’s Thursday night hit dramas ‘Scandal’ and ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ are drawing more Black viewers Sunday Night or Thursday Night Football,” reports Target Market News.
The two series ranked No.1 and 2 on the Top 25 for the second week of October. But CBS was the week’s most watched TV network with 15.3 million viewers for 11 of its shows. ABC came in second with 12.5 million people watching five of its programs. Third was NBC with 11.2 million viewers for six shows.
Black households had 45.8 million viewers for the Top 25, according to Nielsen. This was basically unchanged from the previous week’s total.
Also in the Top 10 broadcast shows in Black households were The OT (No. 4), followed by CBS Thursday night football, Sunday Night NFL Pre-Kick, CBS Thursday Night Pre-Kick, Black-ish, Football Night America Part 3, and Grey’s Anatomy (another Rhimes series).
