Ellen Presents Devon Still With $10,000 Check In Honor Of His Daughter, Who’s Battling Cancer [Watch]
Last month, we told you about Leah Still, the 4-year-old daughter of Cincinnati Bengals player Devon Still who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma.
Leah’s story captivated many across the nation, including TV host Elle Degeneres, who recently donated $10,000 to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where the toddler is being treated. In addition to the extremely generous gesture, Ellen also revealed during an episode of her show that she will be getting celebrities to sign her Bengals jersey, which she will later auction off to raise additional funds to help Leah’s battle with the disease.
“I hope Leah knows how much we love her,” said Ellen before revealing the generous donation. “We’re going to give the children’s hospital of Philadelphia $10,000.”
Devon also revealed that Leah, who had surgery a few weeks ago, is on the road to recovery.
“She doing good. She just finished up her fifth round of chemo. This one hit her kind of hard,” he explained. “She’s a fighter. She’s going to continue to fight.”
He went on to share that Leah says she would like to be a nurse when she grows up.
“I was actually sitting in the hospital a few days ago and she looked up at me and said, ‘I want to be a nurse when I grow up. I just want to help out kids who have cancer too.'”
We continue to send our prayers to Leah and her family.
