Let Me Tell You… 9 Successful Women Reveal The Best Business Advice From Family
Be Bold But Invest Wisely
Stephanie Adams-Nicolai proves you can always change your career course. This former Playboy Centerfold and model, who holds dual bachelor’s degrees in business, ventured into writing and penned more than two dozen books and founded a publishing company. She later launched a skincare line, GODDESSY and GODDESSY Organics. She is also a partner and CFO of Wall Street Chiropractic, which she runs with her husband.
Her family’s advice…
“Many of my African-American ancestors were bankers and land owners. My father’s grandfather still has his name listed in a bank Down South as one of the founders of the bank. My great grandfather on my mother’s side owned over 4,000 acres of land and property, eventually selling most of his land to large businesses,” Adams-Nicolai tells MadameNoire.
“What I’ve been told by elderly living relatives and what I’ve learned from my ancestors overall is: 1) Take a leap of faith and start something grand if you indeed believe in it; 2) Dare to be different. Be bold enough to overcome stereotypes and obstacles; 3) Make money, save money, invest money. Then pretend you never made it, by keeping it wisely invested, and start all over again. I use this advice in my all of my business ventures as well as my own personal investments.”
