Bust a Move: Dance Crazes We Loved and Still Do

The Jerk
Err, who didn’t struggle to get this one right? Some people just have it when it comes to catching on to new dances with no problem, but I doubt everyone’s first romp with “the jerk” was simple. A complex mix of hopping backwards, I know it had me and a few other people asking: How do you hop backwards and stay in place??? Well, it’s actually not too bad. You just skip, but move your legs behind you one at a time…nevermind, you’re on your own. But this dance helped restart  the East Coast Cali dance craze (The Cat Daddy is an LA bred craze and “Teach Me How to Dougie” comes from the Cali Swag District) and had everyone skipping to their loo this past summer. When played in the clubs, people still do it. So no worries, you’ve still got time to get it right!

What are your favorite dances to do from back in the day and now? Still asking for someone to “teach you how to Dougie?”
