When people show up and show out in support of new shows, it shows.

“Black-ish” did great numbers for ABC in its premiere last week, and now, according to reports, “How To Get Away With Murder” was a massive hit in its premiere for ABC as well, becoming the season’s #1 new show in the 18-49 category, according to Variety. According to Nielsen estimates, the new drama pulled in 3.9 million viewers in the coveted 18-49 age category, and had 14.34 million viewers overall for its premiere. The show’s numbers were so good that they beat out the show’s lead-in, “Scandal,” retaining 100% of that program’s viewers and increasing viewership to the network by 18 percent.

But “Scandal” did very well too, pulling in 3.9 million viewers in the 18-49 age category and obtaining 12.16 million viewers overall, hitting a ratings high for the series. Aaaaaand, Shonda Rhimes’ other show, “Grey’s Anatomy,” did great in its early new time slot, pulling in 3.1 million viewers in the 18-49 category, doing 10.4 million viewers overall.

Yes, Shonda Rhimes is killing it in the ratings and shows with black leads are off to a magnificent start this season.

Now that you’ve watched the premiere episode of “How To Get Away With Murder,” will you continue tuning in? We sure plan to!
