The news of these famous babies was totally unexpected and in some cases downright scandalous.

Tyler Perry

We haven’t heard about Tyler Perry’s relationship with Gelila Bekele for quite some time, let alone seen the two together in public, so it was a shock to everyone when he reportedly announced he was expecting a baby at his 45th birthday party earlier this week. The news was confirmed though when a photo of a pregnant Bekele surfaced on user Pietro Mourao’s page with the caption, “She is a good New friend from NYC and she’s 7 months pregnant baby boy!!” The photo has since been taken down, but that doesn’t change the interesting circumstances of this conception.

Eva Mendes

Despite being one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood, Eva Mendes still managed to pull the wool over the media and the public’s eyes. That’s because out of nowhere a report surfaced a few months ago that the “Hitch” star who said she never wanted children was pregnant with Ryan Gosling’s baby. However, neither one of their reps have come forward to confirm nor deny that Mendes was pregnant and she remained out of the public eye. Last week reports emerged that the couple welcomed a baby girl but in true fashion, both stars are keeping mum.

Lauryn Hill

After leaving the hip-hop group The Fugees, Lauryn Hill launched her solo career and dropped her critically acclaimed album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” But during the height of her career, the “Ex-Factor” singer took a very long sabbatical and devoted much of her time raising the five children she had with Rohan Marley. A few years ago, a lot of people were slightly surprised to find out that Hill was pregnant with her sixth child. But virtually everyone was floored to learn that Marley wasn’t the father.

Amina Buddafly

Last season Peter Gunz joined “Love & Hip Hop” along with his baby mama Tara Wallace and his artist Amina Buddafly. But it was quickly revealed that there was a lot more going on between the rapper-turned-manager and the songstress than just a professional relationship. Gunz was juggling both women and had secretly married Amina behind Tara’s back. He ended up leaving the mother of his two children for his new wife and during the “Love & Hip Hop” reunion Gunz, and the entire studio audience, were stunned to find out that Amina was pregnant.

Jessica Simpson

Many Dallas Cowboy fans were ecstatic after Jessica Simpson broke up with the team’s quarterback because they felt she was a jinx and blamed her for Tony Romo’s poor performance on the field. Soon Simpson was dating another athlete and in 2012 she gave birth to their first child. Simpson was set to be the spokesperson for Weight Watchers after shedding the baby weight but that was short lived because soon Simpson was pregnant again. She gave birth to her second child 13 months after the first one.

Fantasia Barrino

After winning the third season of “American Idol,” Fantasia Barrino became an instant star and fans loved the feelings and emotions that poured through her when she sang. But a lot of Fannie’s fans were looking at her sideways when in 2009, she started dating Antwaun Cook, a married man. Even though the “When I See U” singer insisted that they didn’t get together until after he separated from his wife, many looked at Fantasia as a homewrecker and they were even more shocked to find out that she was expecting Cook’s baby. She gave birth to their son in December 2011. They have since broken up and Cook went back to his wife.

Dwyane Wade

When Gabrielle Union started dating Dwyane Wade, many of her fans were happy that she had finally found love. But unbeknownst to the public, Wade and Union briefly broke up early in 2013 and in that time he managed to get his longtime friend pregnant. News of the Miami Heat superstar’s “on break” baby made headlines just as the 2013 NBA season was getting underway. Wade’s third son was born in November and a month later he put a ring on Union’s finger. Wade and Union tied the knot this past summer.

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne has always been a rapper favorite but after starting his own label and branching out and signing endorsements, he became even more popular — especially among the ladies. Weezy already had one daughter with his ex-wife Toya Carter back when he was just 15 years old. But a few years ago, the “Lollipop” rapper welcomed three children with three different women in 13 months. An exotic dancer from Cincinnati, OH, actress Lauren London and singer Nivea are now Lil Wayne’s baby mamas two, three and four respectively.

Sean “Diddy” Combs

Back in 2006, Sean “Diddy” Combs and his longtime girlfriend Kim Porter were preparing to welcome a set of twins. But what Porter didn’t know was that the Bad Boy Records founder was also expecting a baby with another woman. Once she found out, their on and off relationship was completely off. Porter decided to pack up her family sans Diddy and moved across the country from New York to California. Diddy has moved on from the mother of three of his children and has been with singer Cassie for a number of years now.

Earlier this year, a lot of people were stunned to find out that Ludacris was battling a woman in court over a custody case of a newborn baby girl because no one knew that the rapper had fathered a child. It turns out he and his longtime girlfriend were taking a break in their relationship when he hooked up with an old friend and got her pregnant. Ludacris did his best to keep news of his second child out of the media by trying to slap a gag order on his baby mama but their custody and child support case played out for everyone to see. Full custody went to the mother and Luda was ordered to pay $11,000 a month in support.

Keke Wyatt

When we last heard about Keke Wyatt she had been involved in a domestic dispute with her first husband and she ended up stabbing him in self-defense. Fast forward to the reality show “R&B Divas” making its debut and Wyatt reintroduced herself to a brand new audience. She had a new husband and a house full of children — seven to be exact. Several days ago, the “Nothing In This World” singer took to Instagram to announce that she was four months pregnant with baby number eight.

Kerry Washington

As “Scandal’s” Olivia Pope, Kerry Washington makes a living putting out fires in her clients’ professional and personal lives. But Washington has also kept her own personal life out of the media. So when it was announced last summer that Washington had secretly tied the knot to NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, her fans were stunned because few people knew that they were dating at all. And Washington threw another curveball at her fans several months later when it was revealed that she was pregnant. She gave birth to a baby girl this past April.

Lil Kim

Ever since she’s been in the rap game, Lil Kim has been unashamed of her overly sexual image or her sexually explicit lyrics. So a lot of people may have trouble picturing the Queen Bee as a mother. Lil Kim surprised everyone when she popped up with a pregnant belly bump back in February at New York Fashion Week. After revealing that she was carrying a baby girl, Lil Kim gave birth in June to Royal Reign.

Britney Spears

Britney Spears has given the world a lot of surprises including beating a car with an umbrella but her back-to-back pregnancies were another one. After she upped and married back up dancer Kevin Federline, who was in a relationship with actress Shar Jackson, the mother of his two children, Spears was soon announcing that she was carrying a baby of her own. Three months after giving birth to her first child, the “Oops I Did It Again” singer was expecting another one. Then two months after giving birth to her second son, Spears filed for a divorce.
