Has Keyshia Cole finally been able to work things out with the family members she’s been estranged from for quite some time?
According to the singer, “it’s complicated,” but it sure looks like they’re trying to work on their issues and are taking things one day at a time.
The “No Love” singer posted a few images on her Instagram this week with her mother, Frankie Lons, brother Sam and sister Elite. In them, they all seemed chummy and happy, which is good considering the fact that earlier this year, there were reports that Cole was blocking her family’s attempt at a reality show of their own (“Family Therapy“), and Cole told the Breakfast Club that she wasn’t trying to have contact with them anymore, particularly her mother and sister, Neffe:
“I mean, it’s just chaos and I don’t want that around him [son Daniel]. I have to protect him from that type of chaos. I haven’t even spoke to my mom, Frankie, in a minute. They don’t have my number. It’s just a respect thing for one. Last time I had my mom around I sent her through rehab and I tried to help her and I spent a lot of money…and she just took it way too far, yelling in my house. Luckily my child was asleep. After that I was like, ‘Naw.’ You gotta make an adult decision to move that out…I just need…not right now.”
When speaking on her mom in caption for one of her Instagram posts a couple days ago though, Cole said “When she’s not acting crazy, shes the Coolest!!! #Cool but still #Momtho”
But we did notice that Cole didn’t snap a picture with her sister Neffe, who was present at whatever family gathering this was (see below). Siblings Robert and Latifia were not present.
According to NecoleBitchie, Cole’s family will appear on her new BET reality show. We don’t expect Cole to pretend like her family is like the Huxtables after all that they’ve been through with one another, but we’re glad to see they’re trying to patch things up! Besides, she could use their support with all that she’s going through with estranged husband, Daniel Gibson.
