Racial profiling is nothing new in the Black community but “Shop and Frisk” became a hot topic issue last year, especially in New York. “Treme” actor Rob Brown went into Macy’s at their flagship location in Herald’s Square to purchase a watch for his mother. But the store accused him of using a fake credit card to pay for the $1300 graduation gift and he was hauled off in handcuffs. Brown filed a discrimination lawsuit against Macy’s and the NYPD accusing them both of racial profiling. It was settled out of court but no details have been released.
