We hope this isn’t true.
“Tucker was just hit with a brand new federal tax lien for $2.5M … which is on top of the $12 million he already owes Uncle Sam for past due taxes,” reports TMZ.TMZ says it somehow obtained IRS documents that state Tucker failed to pay a total of $2,496,138.24 in 2008 and 2010. He already owed back taxes for 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2006. This brings his grand tally up to $14,068,047.50.
But a rep for Tucker told TMZ that the Rush Hour actor settled with the IRS last Friday. The rep did not say however if it was paid in full or on an installment plan.
Back in 2013 it was reported that the comedian made a payment of more than $985K towards his tax debt, when the then-total was $12 million.
If Tucker finally goes ahead with a new installment of Rush Hour, he may make enough not to worry about taxes ever again. He said in an interview with MLive in March, that Rush Hour 4 was close to happening. Tucker said in the interview: “I think it’s going to happen…We’re really close to making something happen. That would be a good thing.”
For Rush Hour 3, the 43-year-old star negotiated a deal for $25 million to star in the movie with Jackie Chan, reports The Daily Beast. Regardless of whether the film goes ahead or not, one thing is for sure: Tucker needs a new accountant.
