I’s Married Now! Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Tied The Knot On The Low-Low Last Weekend

August 28, 2014  |

According to the Associated Press, Brat Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally tied the knot after years of the press wondering if and when they would.

According to a spokesman for the couple, they wed on Saturday in Correns in France in a private ceremony. The wedding was attended by family and friends in a small chapel at the Chateau Miraval, which is a wine chateau that the couple own. Before the wedding, they obtained a marriage license in California from a judge who flew to France to conduct the ceremony.

According to the AP, the couple’s children had roles in the wedding. Jolie walked down the aisle with her sons Maddox and Pax, while Zahara and Vivienne threw flower petals, and Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers. The couple were engaged back in 2012, and often said that they wouldn’t get married until gay marriage was legal. But after the engagement news broke, Pitt said they were doing it for their kids.

“We’d actually like to [get married] and it seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it till everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment. I’m not going to go any further. But to be in love with someone and be raising a family with someone and want to make that commitment and not be able to is ludicrous, just ludicrous.”

This is the third marriage for Jolie, who was married to actor Jonny Lee Miller (actor from the show “Elementary”) in the late ’90s and actor Billy Bob Thornton for three years before divorcing in 2003. This is the second marriage for Pitt, who we all know was married to Jennifer Aniston from 2000 to 2005. Pitt met Jolie while still married to Aniston when they came together to film Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Congratulations to the couple and their family!
