Egypt Sherrod Cares About Families

HGTV’s Property Virgins host, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Egypt Sherrod has the Egypt Cares Family Foundation.

“A stronger family leads to a stronger village and community for all. Our mission is to enrich the family structure as a whole. Spiritually based, the Egypt Cares Family Foundation aims to provide resources and motivation that support families on their journey to financial literacy, health awareness, higher education and successful communication within the family unit,” says the website. The foundation offers workshops, seminars, scholarships and community outreach programs designed to create stronger families.

Recently, she helped the 3rd Annual Rising Media Stars Boot Camp, for which 15 teens from the metro Atlanta area were chosen “to engage in a rigorous day-long program giving them a birds-eye view of the variety of specialized careers available in the media industry,” reports BlackCelebrityGiving. The teens got personalized tutorials from broadcast television anchors, journalists, TV producers, radio programmers, animation artists, film producers and talent managers.

“As a national TV host & radio personality myself, the Annual Rising Media Stars Boot Camp is a program especially close to my heart. Each year I am reminded of how important it is for me to utilize my relationships to expose young people to positive career opportunities that exist in the business of media,” said Egypt Sherrod, who is also the founder of The Egypt Sherrod Real Estate Group.
