Keke Palmer started her acting career early on in life first by starring on television then making her film debut in the 2006 move “Akeelah and the Bee.” Like many others, Palmer has struggled with society’s standard of beauty. She admitted to praying for lighter skin as a young child but as she got older, she learned to appreciate the color of her skin. When asked if she’s bleached her skin, Palmer had this to say: “We need to stop separating ourselves by how dark or how light we are. I have been the same complexion all my life and if you think otherwise don’t follow me.”
