“It’s Kinda Hard Talking To A Guy Who Hasn’t Graduated High School”: Nelly Takes More Jabs At Floyd Mayweather
Back in May when news of the Nelly/Shantel Jackson/Floyd Mayweather love triangle broke, Nelly took to Instagram and hurled a plethora of subliminal jabs at the professional boxer. A little bit of time has passed and although he claims that he has no beef with Mayweather, it seems that Nelly still isn’t a huge fan of the boxer. During a recent appearance on ESPN 2’s “Highly Questionable,” the St. Louis rapper took a few more jabs at Mayweather—including shaming him for allegedly not finishing high school.
“I don’t have beef with Floyd Mayweather,” Nelly explained. “You know what I’m saying? For me, for the most part, I think the whole thing is misunderstood.”
He then seemed to imply that Mayweather’s frustrations stem from Jackson no longer wanting to be with him.
“I try to understand where he’s coming from, which is a little hard to do. But it’s just one of those things where I guess he is who he is. You know, he’s one of those people that I don’t think that he’s a person who likes the word ‘no’ said to him. You know, and I think if anybody does that, I think that’s what kinda gets underneath his skin a little bit.”
But of course, he couldn’t let the interview conclude without throwing a bit of shade.
“I don’t know. It’s kinda hard talking to a guy who hasn’t graduated from high school,” he concluded.
Unsurprisingly, the hosts got quite a kick out of Nelly and his not-so-subtle shade. The disrespect is so real.
