At this moment, as I write this post, #ANACONDA is trending on Twitter. It has been for the last three hours and it all started when Nicki Minaj released the artwork on Instagram for her next single of the same name, which is set to be released on Monday. The artwork is simple, but is sure to be controversial. Minaj is captured in a full squat, Jordans and a G-string on, backside fully exposed.
In no time flat, folks online have already started making shirts with the image on it, Twitter is in a frenzy over it, and everyone seems to love it. Comments have ranged from “Oh my damn LAWD JESUS” to this:
Even Jackée Harry of all people decided to comment (YES, 227 Jackée) on the eye-popping image:
She looks great, but I don’t know though…Minaj is pretty established in her career and with her brand to be out here exposed like a SMOOTH magazine model in an attempt to sell singles. She’s not a new artist looking for shine. Could the competition be getting to a Barbie (Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just asking)? Or is this cover as fabulous as everyone says it is? You talk about it below.
