“I Promise You — the President Has a Big Stick”
At a foreign policy speech in April of 2012, Joe Biden decided to tell us how well-endowed the president’s proverbial “stick” is — and apparently — it’s pretty big. Quoting Theodore Roosevelt’s “speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far” quote, Biden decided to relate the adage to Obama’s stance on Iran. “I promise you,” Biden said. The president has a big stick.”
