Apollo Nida Says Marriage Is Probably Over: ‘My Wife Didn’t F—ing Show Up For My Sentencing’
Well, it turns out the rumors are true. Apollo Nida recently confirmed that his marriage is definitely in trouble and probably won’t survive his 8-year prison stint.
“I doubt [that my marriage will survive this],” the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star said during a recent interview with B100 Radio. “My wife didn’t even f—ing show up for my sentencing. I’m still kind of salty about that.”
As for how the sentencing has impacted his family life, Apollo says:
“It’s hell—hell on wheels. I’ve asked God to forgive me and I’ve forgiven myself. I had to move on […] I just really had to bite down. I was going through so much. It doesn’t make you less of a man to cry and shed tears. I’ve just really been upset at just how I was raised and that I could possibly be taking my son through the same thing. But by the grace of God, he’s still young and we have many years ahead of us. For me, I just can’t make the same mistakes.”
He went on to sort of imply that there were other people involved in his fraud scheme who simply haven’t been caught.
“It’s all on me. A lot of people could be held accountable. But at the end of the day, it’s all on me. It’s over now. I’m gonna pay back the $1.9 million and keep it going. By the grace of God I was able to get that down. I think it was like 14 before.”
Interestingly, he also expressed remorse for the crimes he committed and having to leave his children.
“I’m still human. At the end of the day, I am remorseful. Coming from a non-father, non-mother background, I feel most sad and disappointed that I let my little man down. But at the end of the day, it is what it is. You must go and pay and contribute to the piper and do what you gotta do and come on back and be graceful about it.”
It sucks that their marriage has fallen apart, especially since there are children involved. But maybe this is all for the best.
