Did Netflix Really Pull The Plug On ‘Orange Is The New Black?’
Last week, a terrible rumor about Netflix cancelling “Orange Is The New Black” began to gain traction. Considering the explosive note that season two ended on and the fact that production for season three is already under way, the rumors left fans confused and disappointed to say the least. Thankfully, the rumors turned out to be false. Netflix took to Twitter and quickly dispelled all talk of a cancellation.
Cast member Danielle “Taystee” Brooks also took to Twitter and Instagram to shut down the rumors.
As it turns out, the rumors originated from a report posted on “satirical site,” Empire News, which quoted Netflix’s CEO announcing the cancellation of the popular series.
“We regret to inform Netflix members that Orange Is the New Black has been permanently cancelled,” the sketchy statement reads. “Also, starting September 1st, 2014, past episodes will no longer be available for streaming on Netflix.”
We’re glad to hear that the rumors are false. There was no way the series could abruptly end with that wild season two finale.
