Dreams Do Come True: Traci Braxton Lands A Record Deal
If you’ve ever seen “The Braxton Family Values,” you know that Traci always seems to be the odd woman out. Like most of her sisters, she had dreams of becoming a singer too. Sadly, all of that was halted when she got pregnant. But during an interview with Hello Beautiful at the Essence Festival, Traci revealed that she finally has a chance to live her decades-long dream.
She told the women of Hello Beautiful not only does she have a record deal but that her new music will be coming out this month.
In speaking about season 3 of “Braxton Family Values” Traci said, “There will be more of Traci stepping out. My single comes out in July. Yes honey! I signed with E One and everything, yes! I’ve got a deal!”
So, aside from listening to her harmonize and beat box, we really don’t know what Traci’s voice sounds like. She said, her music is “a cross of Mary J. Blige and Jill Scott.”
That doesn’t sound too bad. And judging by some of the big name talent who are set to help with this project, it sounds like it’ll be worth a listen.
She says, “Tank wrote a couple of songs on my album and Raheem DeVaughn is doing a duet with me. The single is out this month and the album comes out October 14.”
Nice! Well things certainly seemed to be going well for Traci.
And she’s not the only one, sister Towanda is seeing some results in the pursuit of her acting goal. She also told Hello Beautiful “I’m going to be playing alongside Bruce Bruce on a new sitcom coming up. I’m not doing the music thing. I haven’t done music in years. My passion is acting. I embrace that now. I went to acting school with Teri Vaughn. She’s my coach. She’s going to be in the sitcom alongside of me.”
You can catch up with all the sisters during season 3 of “Braxton Family Values” which debuts on August 21 at 9 pm on WE tv.
