Laverne Cox Snags Role In Bravo Series “Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce”
Great news for “Orange Is The New Black” fans who have already binge watched their way through season two. Laverne Cox has been cast to guest star in Bravo’s first original scripted series, “Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce.” The series is slated to debut later this year and is based on the Victoria Iovine book series, “Girlfriends’ Guide.”
[“Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce”] follows Abby who shocks the world when she reveals that her seemingly perfect life has all been a lie,” a network press release describes the series. “After publicly admitting that she has separated from her husband, Jake, America’s once-favorite girlfriend finds her career and marriage in a free fall. As she starts to navigate life as a single woman in her 40s, Abby turns to her new divorced friends, rather than her married ones, for advice.”
In the series, Laverne will be playing Adele Northrop, who is “a Pulitzer-Prize winning war journalist and LGBT activist who presents an award at a marriage equality gala.” “Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce” is executive produced by Marti Noxon, Vicki Iovine, Meryl Poster, Liz Kruger, Robbie Duncan McNeil and Craig Shapiro.
