Shay Johnson Talks Loving Scrappy Unconditionally & Being Excluded From His Storyline: ‘Mona Isn’t Showing Everything’
He proposed to his child’s mother in her presence and embarrassed her on national television on several occasions. Yet somehow, Shay Johnson has found it in her heart to forgive and even continue to maintain somewhat of a romantic relationship with Scrappy.
“It’s an unconditional love that I have for him,” the former “Flavor Of Love” star recently told VH1. “He’s done a lot of dirty things to me and I’ve tried to hate [him] but it just doesn’t work.”
Though they’re clearly not in any sort of committed relationship, Shay says that she’s taking what she can get.
“At this point I’m just running with whatever we got going on. He don’t know what it is; I don’t know what it is. We just know we love each other.”
“[Scrappy’s] done lots of things wrong to me publicly,” she continued. “He lied to me on national television – played me – but at the end of the day, what you didn’t see, he came and apologized and we were together and we opened up to each other and he broke everything down and he was very apologetic. I can’t hold grudges. It won’t get me anywhere, so I move forward from that incident to where we are now. And of course [he and Erica Dixon] still didn’t get married. They still didn’t get married like I said. That was stupid.”
Judging by the first nine episodes of the current season, most would assume that Shay isn’t even a part of Scrappy’s life (or storyline) any more. To date, we’ve seen Scrappy have or attempt to have romantic exchanges with at least three women—none of them being Shay. In fact Shay has yet to make a real appearance at all this season.
“I watched a few episodes but I laugh because clearly Mona is not showing everything,” she explained. “I don’t hate her that I’m not on so far this season because they are still taping and there’s still time. And Scrappy? He’s still around. He’s always gonna be around. I’m not gonna tell you what we’ve been doing but I’ve been a bad, bad girl and that has not been shown on TV.”
Honestly, it seems like Shay and all of the other women involved in this web of deception, sex and inconsistency deserve a lot better than what they’ve settled for. But if they’d prefer to stick around and accept whatever is being dished out, who are we to tell them any different?
