Sherri Shepherd Confirms She’s Leaving “The View.” McCarthy Tweets She’s Going With Her
According to Deadline, one of Shepherd’s representatives issued this statement, confirming that she is indeed leaving.
“It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”
And then not too long ago, McCarthy tweeted:

Hmm…what is going on here?! It seems like there’s something going down behind the scenes that someone’s not saying right now. Are you sad to see Sherri go? Hopefully, she really did leave on her own terms and wasn’t forced out.
Earlier today we reported that sources claimed Jenny McCarthy was being fired from morning talk show “The View.” And while we take no pleasure in anyone losing their job, it that made sense. Jenny McCarthy is cool, she might not have been the best fit for daytime tv, or at least this show.
But now according to TMZ, she might not be the only one. Sources told TMZ that there was a meeting at ABC today and during it they announced that Sherri Shepherd was also being let go. In addition they also heard, but have yet to confirm, that executive producer Bill Geddie, the guy with the blank stare and the headphones, may also be on his way out. Yikes!
This is all speculation at the moment but Barbara is set to appear on the show tomorrow so maybe she’ll provide some clarification.
According to TMZ, the show has been struggling since McCarthy was added to the lineup. Reportedly, she threw off the chemistry.
Aww…it’s unfair to place the blame on her. McCarthy was an odd choice but of course she threw off the chemistry. I mean, the show lost Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar in a very short time period. The chemistry would have been different with anyone who replaced them.
Again, nothing is official but rumor has it Ross Matthews and Jesse Palmers are replacement contenders.
If all of this is true my heart sincerely goes out to Sherri Shepherd. With the divorce from husband Sal, her ex husband fighting for custody all of a sudden and a new child on the way, this would be the absolute worst time for her to lose a job. Here’s hoping these allegations are false.
