In the world of Hollywood, there are celebrities out there who will do any and everything to keep themselves looking as perfect as possible, even if that means adhering to an absolutely insane diet that most people wouldn’t ever attempt to try. Here are 14 of the craziest celebrity diets ever created.

In order to quickly slim down for her role in Dreamgirls, Beyonce put herself on the Master Cleanse, which involves an herbal laxative, a saltwater flush, and a liquid cocktail that includes lemon juice, cayenne pepper, maple syrup, and water. Sounds tasty, right?

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera’s diet takes colored food to a whole new level. Her diet plan consists of eating the same colored food each day, so on Monday she’d eat green foods and Tuesday would consist of nothing but red foods.

Mariah Carey

Similarly to Christina, Mariah Carey believes that certain colored foods assist in weight loss as well. She claims that she lost her baby weight after eating nothing but purple and lilac-colored foods such as purple carrots, potatoes, cauliflower, and of course, berries.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez believes that grapefruit oil helps promote weight loss as the aroma of the oil can apparently push your liver enzymes into high gear which in turn will help to promote weight loss. At least the smell is tolerable…

January Jones

After giving birth to her son, January Jones turned her placenta into pills, which apparently helps to shrink your uterus back to it’s normal size, which in turn flattens out the stomach.

A diet called the Cookie Diet sounds half-decent, right? Before becoming a mom, Snooki ate no more than nine 60-calorie cookies each day along with one normal meal to help slim down from the weight gained from excess drinking.

Jennifer Aniston

While she doesn’t have any children of her own, Jennifer Aniston has had her share of baby food. In order to slim down for a movie, she admitted to eating only 14 servings of baby food each day.

Anne Hathaway

To prepare for her role in the movie Les Miserables, Anne Hathaway ate nothing but two squares of dried oatmeal paste daily. While she lost 15lbs, she said the diet drove her absolutely crazy.

Megan Fox

To keep herself looking sleek and sexy, Megan Fox swears by drinking apple cider vinegar before each meal. She’s claimed that the vinegar helps to get rid of water weight while also boosting her metabolism.

Adriana Lima

Being a Victoria’s Secret runway model, it’s no surprise that Adriana Lima has some crazy diets to get herself looking as skinny as possible. Nine days before every runway show she drinks nothing but protein shakes, and then 12 hours before the show, she drinks and eats nothing at all.

Madonna has worked with her chef to create a diet plan that is high in fiber as well as good bacteria. The idea behind the diet is that the good bacteria will help to fight off cancer while also promoting a healthy digestive system through the growth of microbes in her bowel movements.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry’s diet is a two week diet that involves replacing lunch and dinner with a mushroom-based dish. As she claims, the diet helps to slim your waist, but keeps your bust from trimming down, which is oddly enough, similar to the shape of a mushroom.

Michelle Pfieffer

At one point in time, Michelle Pfieffer was a part of the Breatharians cult. This cult follows the idea that humans can thrive on nothing but air and light, so no food, or even water, is consumed with this diet.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow is definitely one of the more outspoken celebrities when it comes to eating habits. At one point she was following the macrobiotic diet, which involves eating nothing but fruit, vegetables, cereals, algae, and seeds. Eggs, dairy, and meat are out of the question since they are processed.
