Back in April, we told you about an impending sexual assault investigation involving San Fransisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, teammate Quinton Patton and Seattle Seahawks receiver Ricardo Lockette. In case you missed it, a woman who says she had a sexual relationship with Kaepernick in the past, believed that she may have been sexually assaulted while hanging out at his apartment with him, Lockette and Patton.
After conducting an investigation into the suspicious case, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office announced that the 49ers star has been “exceptionally cleared.” Colin’s fellow football pals Ricardo and Quinton have been cleared as well.
“There is no evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that any crime was committed against the complaintant,” prosecutors revealed in court documents recovered by TMZ Sports.
No semen was found in the woman’s genital area when a rape kit was administered. There were also no lesions, tears or signs of forced penetration. Documents also reveal that the accuser was behaving irrationally during her time spent at Colin’s apartment. For example, “banging her head against the bedroom walls and kicking uncontrollably.”
According to investigators, when authorities arrived at the apartment, she was moving her body as “if she was engaged in a sex act, although there was no one else in the room.”
“When she heard the officer’s voices, [she] started screaming incoherently about Jesus and devils,” documents reveal. “At one point, [she] took the wig off her head and threw it at the officers.”
It’s believed that she may have possibly been under the influence of drugs; however, toxicology tests showed no traces of drugs. But investigators did note that these tests “are not always able to find such intoxicants in a person’s system.”
If you think all of this is strange, wait until you hear the bizarre backstory. One week after filing the police report, the woman told investigators that on the day of the incident, she made sure that she shaved and prepared her body she had plans to sleep with Colin that night. Ironically, on the night of the incident, she saw Colin on the balcony of his apartment with another woman, so she undressed and confronted both of them. At this point, she went into Colin’s bedroom and he left the apartment. Colin also told cops that on April Fool’s Day, the woman told him that she was pregnant. He later changed his phone number and tried to cut off contact with her.
“As I said from day one, I would never do the things that were made up about me. I’m glad this issue is resolved. It’s time for football,” Colin tweeted following the announcement.
And there you have it, case closed.
