A night of celebration ended in tragedy after Tynisa Guyton was shot dead in front of her South Los Angeles home. According to the Los Angeles Times, the mother of three and husband, Anthony Guyton, were returning home around 12:30 am from celebrating Anthony’s birthday when gunmen emerged from a vehicle and opened fire.
“Me and my wife were just going in the house and two guys rolled up and started shooting at us for no reason,” Anthony told reporters.
Although the couple tried to make their way into the home once shots rang out, Anthony says the shooters ran onto their front lawn and began shooting into the house. Tynisa was hit in her upper torso. She died at the scene. Anthony told investigators that he heard close to twenty shots fired. A motive for the crime is unknown at this time.
The couple have three children, including a daughter, who had plans to celebrate her eighth birthday that day. Sadly, instead of planning a birthday party, this family was forced to begin planning a funeral.
“My wife was a beautiful person,” Anthony said. “I just lost my best friend. She’s gone. Just like an empty hole in my heart. My kids just lost their mother. I have no explanation for that. None whatsoever.”
Just weeks prior to the fatal shooting, Anthony and Tynisa celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. Investigators are still on the hunt for the killers, but so far, the only information being released is that they fled the scene in a dark sedan, ABC 7 reports.
