When Olivia Scott was an account executive at marketing communications giant DDB she was too timid to ask for help and guidance when she needed it and worked nights and weekends until eventually was let go.
“My dismissal was the result of me becoming overwhelmed with too many client projects at once, some aspects which I had little understanding of how to do,” explains Olivia Scott. “[T]he lesson I learned was that in the first 90 days, assertively seek a clear and initial job description and get your manager to help you in areas of weakness.”
Today, after having worked at Carol’s Daughter and Live Nation, she launched NY-based Omerge Alliances, an integrated marketing communications consultancy dedicated to independent video, film, and music properties.
