BIGGER THINGS AHEAD

“I was let go (fashionably “dismissed”) from Wilhelmina because 1.) my agent never liked me, 2.) she seemed to want to keep me in the same boring typecast/rut, and 3.) she did not like the fact that I did not just do as I was told (she seemed somewhat prejudice as well). Instead, I had bigger dreams and knew I could do better,” recalls former model Stephanie Adams-Nicolai.

Not only did she move on to a better agency, she formalized a bigger plan.

“I switched to Elite Model Management, got bigger and better jobs, and dealt with people who were more supportive than derogatory and condescending… But I still knew there was something else out there for me to do,” she says. “So I used the proceeds from my modeling career and started privately investing in Fortune 500 companies. I built a plan to become my own boss. Then eventually I did just that.”

Today, she is owner of a publishing company (Goddessy), a million-dollar medical practice (Wall Street Chiropractic), and a luxury skin care line (Goddessy Organics).

“I am glad I did not just accept the role someone else tried to carve in my mind. I became better. And I have never looked back,” summarizes Adams-Nicolai.
