For a life adventure Jo Kelly-Bai up and left her home in Columbia, Missouri, to move to China. Over 40 at the time, it was a major life decision. Today, she lives in Yuyao, China, has married a young Chinese man, and has a new position as the director of student management at an international college. She is also part owner of a bar, has her own consulting business, teaches business, and blogs about her experiences as an African-American woman in China in Life Behind The Wall.

“Me time? What’s that? I usually try to get up early so I can listen to music and prepare for my day. I always take one evening a week no matter what to go Latin dancing. It relieves my stress and I feel free for a while; the exercise doesn’t hurt either. The point is I schedule my work day so I schedule my me time too. All work and no play makes me…. Well…not a nice lady.”
