Chris Brown Sentenced To 131 Days In Jail, Could Be Released In A Week
As you may remember Chris Brown’s sentencing hearing was today. And a judge has decided that he’ll spend 131 days in jail for violating his probation (in the Rihanna case) by fighting outside of Washington D.C. hotel.
Brown was in court today where he admitted violating the conditions.
He sentenced Brown to one year in jail but Chris has received credit for the 116 days he spent in rehab and another 59 days behind bars. Which leaves 131 days left on his one year sentence.
But apparently, the L.A. Country Sheriff’s Department has said that prisons are so overcrowded they’ve been releasing inmates sentenced to one year after just 240 days. Chris has received 2 days credit for every one he’s spent behind bars adding up to 234 days, 6 days shy of the release requirement.
The judge had the option of sentencing Chris to four years in prison but he decided to exercise leniency considering Chris was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which many believe could account for some of his violent behavior.
The judge also ordered Chris to attend therapy sessions with a psychiatrist twice a week. He also must be available for random drug testing three times a week.
Chris will be back in court in a few months for the trial regarding his D.C. assault.
