Sorry Donald Sterling. Your foul, bigoted mouth has finally caught up with you! The Los Angeles Clippers owner is not only banned from the NBA after his vile tirade, but it’s likely that he’ll be forced to sell the team, as announced by league commissioner Adam Silver.
In response to the Sterling tape, Magic Johnson, who was at the center of his narrow-minded diatribe said: “He shouldn’t own a team anymore. And he should stand up and say, ‘I don’t want to own a team any more.” Siding with the basketball legend, tons of potential buyers are lining up to place their bid on the Clippers. The team is worth $575 million, up from $12 million when Sterling purchased the team in 1981, according to CNN Money.
First, a thumbs up from 22 out of 29 owners is needed to revoke Sterling’s ownership rights. That’s not stopping the likes of Diddy and Rick Ross from showing early interest in the LA Clippers! Check out the list celebrities who cannot wait to get their hands on the frazzled NBA team!
