Apollo Nida Says Spending $8,000 At The Strip Club Is The Same As Women Spending Thousands On Designer Bags
If you’ll recall, during this most recent season of Real Housewives of Atlanta, at the doomed lingerie party, Apollo Nida admitted that he spends thousands of dollars, in one night at that, when he goes to the strip club. While that sounds preposterous to the everyday person with bills, celebrities do it all the time. But then again, last time I checked, the men on RHOA don’t get paid to be on the show, and it’s not 100 percent clear what Nida does for his dollars.
In a recent interview with Sister 2 Sister‘s Jamie Foster Brown though, Nida wanted to set the record straight for everyone on how he makes his money, especially with those bank fraud and identity charges hanging over his head. He says that his workout videos and more are his bread and butter.
“Well, I make money from the videos. One of my monthly checks from the videos is $32,000 in sales. I mean, we make money. I purchase properties. I flip them. I bought my last house at $12,500; I sold it for $46,500. So just do the math.”
He also wanted to speak on his decision to spend so much of the money he makes at the strip club. He says it’s similar to women spending thousands on designer bags and clothes when they want to splurge.
“There’s no difference than $8,000 spent on a strip club versus $8,000 at a Versace store or $15,000 on a Hermès bag. So for NeNe [Leakes] to sit there and say, ‘You should’ve spent that $8,000 on your kids,’ well, you should’ve spent that $15,000 for that Hermès bag on your kids. It’s no difference. It’s what you wanted. It was your vice at that time. So I don’t feel like that was taken out of context because everybody has something that they like to do.”
He does say that nowadays, he spends more time at regular nightclubs instead of strip clubs, so thousands aren’t necessarily being spent on lapdances and such. Brown asked Nida if Phaedra Parks ever had an issue with his penchant for going out and being around women so much, and this is what he had to say:
“I mean, people talk all the time. But infidelity—I haven’t had any issues like that. It stopped. Even when we were married, I used to always party with women [because] all my friends were women. I guess that was an issue, so I no longer kick it with women.”
While I understand what Nida is trying to say about lapdances vs. luxury items, these things really aren’t on the same level. People should be able to spend their money however they feel, but spending thousands in one night on women you don’t know and don’t get anything tangible in return from (maybe…) is a lot different than buying something, that if well taken care of, can last a very long time (and be sold later if necessary). A night in the strip club is just that–one night…but good leather is forever!
You get what I’m saying.
