Monday’s Madame: Dr. Candace Cummings

Why She Inspires Us: Dr. Candace Cummings is a board certified and licensed physician specializing in the field of Internal Medicine. She attended MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine, which is now Drexel University School of Medicine. When she graduated from medical school in 2000, Dr. Cummings completed her residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital, and while there she served as a Primary-Care Chief Resident. She was a member of AMA and CMDS (Christian Medical Dental Society). Currently she is an active participant and member of Raphael’s Ministry, a non-profit/charitable organization that provides free healthcare to the people of Zambia each year. Dr. Cummings was the head of the medical team on three occasions and plans to take Raphael’s Ministry health efforts to the South American nation of Guyana.
Dr. Cummings is highly involve in Restoration Temple Assembly of God (RTAOG) Church located in Brooklyn, NY. She serves as a mentor to young women, the co-director of RTAOG’s Singles’ Ministry and the head of their Health & Wellness Committee. Dr. Cummings was recognized and given an award by the International Women’s Leadership Association (IWLA) for her contribution to Family, Career and Community. Recently she was invited to be a part of the DOH Minority Health BBEAG (Borough of Brooklyn Ecumenical Advisory Group).
