Bye Andre: Gary Dourdan Set To Play New Love Interest For Mary Jane Paul On “BMJ”
Shazza Zulu is back! Er…I mean, Gary Dourdan. Sorry, I was a big Different World fan.
Anywho, according to Deadline, the former CSI star will join the cast in a recurring role, playing Sheldon Armstrong, a character setting his sights on the recently single Mary Jane Paul. The character is a “charming and casually handsome” retired attorney who is well-known and quite wealthy because of his past pursuits of litigation against corrupt businesses and corporations. Armstrong will be coming out of retirement to do philanthropic work, and while he’s never given an interview in his life, you know Mary Jane Paul works her magic to make him a guest for her show, Talk Back. According to Deadline, “when Mary Jane (Gabrielle Union) sets out to interview him, he is quite taken with her.” He just might reconsider his disdain for doing interviews to get close to Mary Jane.
While Dourdan can’t match the all-around gorgeous-ness that was Andre (played by Omari Hardwick), Mary Jane needs someone she can count on. Oh yeah, and Mary Jane needs a man who isn’t married with kids and a whole separate and complicated life. We’ll see if Dourdan’s character of Sheldon Armstrong can be that for her. Either way, should make for interesting television when the show returns for its second season.
